    Legal Affairs

We provide advice and guidance to the College community on a wide range of legal matters, including governance, ethical questions, collective bargaining issues, legal inquiries such as Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) requests, Family and Educational Privacy Rights Act (FERPA) requests, subpoenas, litigation, administrative proceedings, contracts, grievances, disciplinary matters, and a broad range of policy questions affecting the College and its related entities. We serve as liaison to The City University of New York (CUNY) Office of General Counsel, Labor Relations, and where appropriate, Human Resources. OLALRC also works with the New York State Attorney General and other state and federal agencies in litigation matters.

    Labor Relations

Our responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing the labor-management grievance and disciplinary processes, mediating employee disputes and workplace violence complaints, ensuring compliance with the New York State Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government and laws governing employment and contract interpretation, as well as CUNY and Baruch College bylaws and governance documents.

Combating Sex-Based Misconduct / Title IX

Baruch College follows the tenets of Title IX, a federal civil rights law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school or education program that receives federal funding. We are committed to providing a safe and secure academic environment free of sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, and other forms of sexual misconduct.

    Diversity and Equity Initiatives

Baruch College is committed to a policy of equal employment and equal access in its educational programs and activities.  Our central mission is to create an environment that promotes diversity and inclusion.
