Voices of Baruch: Hear from Our Students

    Dear Baruch Community,

It is my pleasure to unveil for you Voices of Baruch, a new video series that captures the words, ingenuity, energy, and ethos of Baruch’s outstanding students.

I joined the Baruch community only recently, on July 1, but long before my arrival, I was impressed by the can-do spirit and grit of Baruch’s high-achieving, highly diverse student population. Over the past few months, my admiration for Baruch’s students has only grown, as we navigate together through these uncertain and rapidly changing times. I have appreciated your flexibility and creativity every step of the way.

    Meet Taji Sanders (’22)

In the inaugural video, Taji Sanders, a junior and vice president of student affairs for the Undergraduate Student Government (USG), shares how he is tapping into different tech solutions to overcome challenges in the virtual world. In just two minutes, he also describes his role with USG, his goals for collaborating with faculty to bring new programming to Baruch, and how important it is to “keep the stress of life from weighing us down.”

As the series evolves, each Voices installment will capture the perspective and experience of a Baruch College student—undergraduates and graduate students, from all three schools—in their own words. Voices of Baruch adds to the College’s multimedia showcase that brings the audacious Baruch experience to life. Subscribe to the College’s YouTube channel to catch the latest and view other series: Be Resilient, Trending@Baruch, and Baruch Rocks.

Let’s Keep Connected in the Virtual World

Engaging with the College and each other on social media is just one way that we are striving to keep the Baruch community connected as we learn and work remotely. We continue to update the Baruch Forward: Fall 2020 and Beyond website with important resources, including a new section on Social Support Services and Protections in the Student Resources area. We are also always looking for contributions to the Community Connections page, which showcases some of the ways in which Baruch remains strong and forward-looking during these uncertain times. You can send your suggestions to BaruchCollege.Communications@baruch.cuny.edu.

You can also engage with me on Twitter @DavidWuBaruch, through my blog, and via email at President@baruch.cuny.edu. I look forward to hearing from you and for all of us to get to know one another as we stay safe and strong.

    Sincerely,

    S. David Wu
    President, Baruch College
