Dear Baruch Faculty and Staff,
I’m thrilled to invite you to an update on one of Baruch’s most transformative projects in recent years! As you may recall from the campus announcements and presentations in Spring 2024, Baruch College will be expanding into additional space at 63 Madison Avenue as part of a long-term lease. Back in February, I shared that the CUNY Board of Trustees approved this ambitious plan, which allows us to create cutting-edge classrooms and offices at 63 Madison—an integral step forward in the renovation of the Lawrence and Eris Field Building at 17 Lexington Avenue (17 Lex). This new location will not only facilitate renovations but also serve as a key site for the College’s long-term growth, with its own dedicated CUNY entrance on East 27th Street.
Since the spring, our working group—composed of cross-divisional representatives from Baruch and Hunter College, which will be sharing the space with us for the first five years—has been hard at work. Over the summer, the team made remarkable progress in guiding the design, programming, and construction schedules to ensure the space will be ready for occupancy in Fall 2025. We’re eager to share the milestones achieved so far and to involve the community in the next steps of this important project.
