My August Blog: “Reimagining Higher Education—and Baruch—in a New Normal”

    Dear Baruch Community,

As we begin the new semester and an unprecedented new academic year, I am sharing with you my second blog post, entitled “Reimagining Higher Education—and Baruch—in a New Normal.”

While we are not alone in the current struggle to adapt to an ever-changing environment, we at Baruch have an opportunity to be at the forefront of reimagining higher education in this country.

Among the questions I pose for you to consider and respond to:

    • Why do we need to reimagine higher education? Can we use this moment to conceive learning differently?
    • How do we create a holistic approach toward admitting, educating, and serving students that facilitates positive outcomes and transformation?
    • How can we more effectively address student needs in an off-campus, virtual learning environment?
    • How will innovation and community partnership come together to shape Baruch’s future?

I invite you to read the post in its entirety here and subscribe, comment, like, and sign up for notifications. In that spirit, I also encourage you to engage with the Task Force for the Future by contributing your best ideas.

All of these dialogues and conversations will help us emerge as a community even stronger, and more resilient, than ever.

    Sincerely,

    S. David Wu
    President, Baruch College
