Join the Activity-Based Budgeting Faculty Engagement Workshop on Thursday, November 21
Dear Baruch College Faculty,
Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent Activity-Based Budgeting (ABB) kickoff event. The session, led by David Vuletich, PhD, MBA, Managing Director of EAB Research Advisory Services, provided an insightful overview of ABB’s principles and set the stage for the model’s implementation at Baruch. Key takeaways included:
- Transparency and Alignment: ABB will enhance transparency and align financial incentives with Baruch’s strategic goals, allowing us to allocate resources more effectively and respond to changing academic and financial needs.
- Community Engagement: The session underscored the importance of faculty and staff involvement throughout this process. Input from our community will be critical as we continue to refine and adopt the ABB model.
- Initial Resources: A dedicated ABB SharePoint site has been created. The site includes general information about ABB, the adoption timeline, EAB’s presentation slides, a recording of the kickoff session, an FAQ section, and Steering Committee membership details.
As we move forward, there will be a series of phased engagements with stakeholders and continued collaboration with the ABB Steering Committee. Join us for our next major event, a Faculty Engagement Workshop:
Thursday, Nov. 21
12:30–2 pm
Information and Technology Building, 7th Floor, Rackow Room, Room H-750
Lunch will be provided.
Please RSVP for in-person attendance here.
Remote access will also be available; register here.
To stay informed, you can access the ABB SharePoint site here, which will be regularly updated as we progress. Once BaruchHUB launches later this month, this content will also be accessible there.
Thank you for your commitment to this important initiative. ABB will enable us to make transparent, data-driven decisions that support strategic growth and reinforce our dedication to access, excellence, and successful outcomes for the Baruch community.
A special thanks to the Steering Committee for their hard work in guiding us to this point. They will continue to keep everyone updated on next steps and upcoming engagement opportunities.
Sincerely,
S. David Wu
